Warmnest pearled candles are not poured in a jar. You pour them yourself, into any vessel you love, and you refresh them again and again.
1. Pour
Any fireproof container at least 10 cm wide works: ceramic, glass, metal or stone. Fill it about three-quarters full with pearls, then level them gently with your hand. Aim for at least 4–5 cm of depth so the wick stands straight.
2. Wick
Take a cotton wick by its metal tab and push it straight down into the pearls, all the way to the bottom, so only the tip peeks out. A wick planted deep burns slowly, evenly and cleanly.
The wick rule: each wick covers a 5 cm radius. A 10 cm bowl needs 1 wick; a 20 cm centrepiece, 3. Every box comes with 30 pre-tabbed cotton wicks, unbleached and lead-free, around 12 hours each.
3. Light
Only the pearls around the flame melt, about 1 cm around the wick, so the candle never tunnels and never wastes wax. A full box gives up to 120 hours of glow. Knocked over, the pearls smother the flame instantly. No black smoke, no soot. As with any candle, never leave a flame unattended.
3+. Scent (optional)
The classic Pearled Candle is scent-free by design. Add 2–3 drops of our Scented Oils around each wick before lighting, and change the fragrance at every refresh. Our repellent candles are already infused with real essential oils.
4. Refresh
Once the wax has cooled, the melted pearls form a thin solid cap around the spent wick. Lift it out in one piece, drop in a fresh wick, top up with new pearls, and light. A brand-new candle, in thirty seconds.
Your pearls have more than one life
Don't bin that wax cap. Break it up in a plastic bag with a rolling pin into rough pea-sized pieces, pour it back into your vessel like fresh pearls, plant a wick and light. The wax was engineered to melt evenly even when crushed.
Good to know
- Mix your colours: pour two colours in stripes, or blend them for a speckled glow.
- They float: a bowl of water, a few petals, a handful of pearls with a wick.
- Ending the evening: use a snuffer, or let the wick finish — the flame extinguishes itself.
- Storing your pearls: tube closed, away from direct sun and radiators. Pearls keep for years.
