Everything about your repellent candle
Does it really keep wasps away? +
It is made with real lemon and clove essential oils, the scents traditionally burned on summer tables to make a meal more pleasant. It is not an insecticide: it does not kill anything, it simply fills the air around you with lemon and clove instead. Light it 15 minutes before you serve and keep it near the food; for a big terrace, use two or three.
What about mosquitoes and flies? +
Each scent targets its intruder: Citronella for mosquitoes, Lavender for flies, Lemon & Clove for wasps. You can mix scents in the 2 and 3-box bundles above to cover them all.
How strong is the scent? +
Noticeable but never heavy: real essential oils diffused by the flame, not sprayed. It reads as a garden candle, not an insecticide.
Can I use it indoors? +
Yes: it's the same clean-burning plant-based wax as our classic pearls, and lemon & clove indoors smells like baking season. For an unscented glow, our classic Pearled Candle is the one.
How long does one box last? +
Up to 120 hours of burn time, the equivalent of 6 classic candles. Each box includes 30 cotton wicks (each burns ~12 hours).
Is it safe around children and pets? +
Yes: the flame self-extinguishes if the candle is knocked over, and the burn is clean with no black smoke. As with any candle, never leave a flame unattended.
What containers can I use outdoors? +
Any fireproof container at least 10 cm wide: ceramic, glass, metal, a bucket for the big table. Sheltered from strong wind, or inside a hurricane glass.
Can I reuse the pearls? +
Yes. Once a burn is done, lift out the used wicks, break up the cooled wax (a bag and a rolling pin will do) and pour it again. The scent softens slightly with each burn.
